Pre-made, all-in-one tarp ridgeline kit.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

50 ft reflective coyote-brown Bushcraft Paracord ridgeline

  • Plenty of working cord for large tree trunks, wider anchor spacing or extended/double-ridgeline setups.
  • Earth tones blend naturally into camp by day; reflective tracers improve visibility when illuminated after dark.

3 × reflective-orange bungee Prusik loops

  • Pre-tied for fast tarp positioning: slide them unloaded, then tension the setup so the wraps grip.
  • Elastic pull helps buffer wind gusts and reduce sudden stress on tarp tie-outs.

6 × 6 ft reflective-orange guylines

  • Four for the tarp corners plus two extras for pull-outs, alternate pitches or line extensions.
  • Bright orange and reflective tracers make the lines easier to spot when illuminated after dark.

1 × The Bear Essentials general-purpose carabiner

  • Use as a quick ridgeline connection or gear clip. Not for climbing.

1 × waxed-canvas carrying bag

  • Keeps the complete kit organized, protected and ready to pack.

The thought behind it

Our Unique Design

How to Use

WATCH THE CURRENT TARP SETUP VIDEO →

1. Run the 50 ft mainline between two suitable anchors. Use only the length your pitch needs; the extra cord handles large tree trunks, wider spacing or extended/double-ridgeline setups.

2. Attach the tarp’s ridge tie-outs to the pre-tied bungee Prusik loops. Remove the load to slide each Prusik into position; tension the setup and the wraps grip.

3. Attach the guylines and stake out the tarp. For adjustable tension, I recommend a Farrimond Friction Hitch or Taut-Line Hitch on each guyline. Slide each friction hitch to adjust.

4. Use four guylines for the corners and the two extras for pull-outs, alternate pitches or line extensions.

Once dialed in, leave the cordage attached to your tarp for a faster setup next time.

🏕️ What's Included

1 × 50 ft reflective coyote-brown Bushcraft Paracord ridgeline

• Plenty of cord for large trees, wider anchor spacing or extended/double-ridgeline setups.

• Earth-tone coyote brown blends naturally into camp by day; reflective tracers improve visibility when illuminated after dark.

6 × 6 ft reflective-orange nylon guylines

• Four for the tarp corners plus two extras for pull-outs, alternate pitches or line extensions.

• Reflective orange is easier to spot when illuminated after dark; nylon provides a small amount of stretch.

3 × reflective-orange bungee Prusik loops

• Pre-tied with a double fisherman’s knot and ready to wrap as Prusik hitches.

• Slide unloaded, grip under tension and maintain elastic pull as the mainline settles.

• Help soften sudden loads from gusts or accidental bumps.

1 × lightweight general-purpose carabiner

• Use as a quick connection at one end of the ridgeline or as a gear clip.

• Not for climbing.

1 × reusable beeswaxed-canvas carry bag

• Keeps the complete kit organized and ready to pack.

Tarp, stakes and tree-protection straps are not included.

🏞️ The Bear Essentials Advantage

Built to save you the buying, cutting and tying.

I hand-selected the right cord for each job: reflective Bushcraft Paracord for the mainline, reflective nylon for the guylines and elastic bungee cord for the Prusik loops.

Everything is measured, cut and pre-tied, so you don’t have to buy several full spools, cut the lines yourself or tie the loops yourself.

Once you dial in the setup for your tarp, leave the cordage attached for a much faster pitch next time.
