The Bear Essentials — I’m a customer for life. While I’ve never met DJ in person, we’ve corresponded many times, and he’s consistently been a genuinely great guy. DJ doesn’t just offer superior-quality outdoor and bushcraft gear—his customer service is just as exceptional. He sets clear expectations and then exceeds them every time. This is my fourth order, and every item has impressed me. The merino wool beanie has been a lifesaver during this cold northern winter. The tungsten striker and ferrocerium rod are built so well they’ll probably outlive me—honestly, these are heirloom-quality tools. I’m also extremely happy with the knife sharpening kit, so much so that I bought one for my dad, too. I am extremely happy with my bucksaw and carry sling. Its a beautiful work of art that is built well, functions properly, and I will be able to pass it down to my kids and theirs.
