The Bear Essentials Original Bucksaw

Handcrafted in Canada by DJ himself (See old video above of DJ explaining the saw):

The saws were made originally by DJ and his Grampa; Norman. Since 2017, it has been a passion project, the first one was officially made for sale in 2019. Since then, 1600 have been hand crafted, and delivered to proud owners around the world.

With his saw journey now complete, as DJ has retired from saw making in 2025, he is now focused on building The Bear Essentials Brand in a more Educational direction - helping provide quality gear and tutorials to newcomers and pros alike within the outdoor world.

The saws have a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Each saw is unique, lightweight, and a true work of art.

The Axe Mask Sharpener Sheath

This Axe Mask is currently designed for two specific Gransfors Bruk Axes:

1. The GFB Small Forest Axe.
2. The GFB Scandinavian Forest Axe.

They incorporate a leather axe mask, as well as a slot with a 400/1000 grit field sharpener inside.
The video features the sheath as well as DJ comparing some features of 3 GFB axes.

The Field Sharpener Patch

This Field Sharpener Patches are a new innovation by DJ. The leather patches have velcro stitched on the backside, but the stitching also incorporates a slot for a field sharpener to slide in.
It comes in these 3 designs:
